Educator Grants

We encourage TCSD educators and 501c3 organizations interested in implementing innovative educational projects that benefit Trumansburg students to apply for an educator grant.

How to Apply

In an effort to encourage more grant applications and, therefore, expand opportunities for educational programs in the community, we are pleased to present new guidelines for our grant application process.

  • Update effective 4/20/24 until further notice:

    • Due to a high volume of submitted and funded grant applications for the Spring 2024 grant cycle, we have closed rolling grant applications for the remainder of the school year to preserve funds for Fall 2024 applications. We hope to begin accepting rolling applications again on September 1, 2024 if funds remain to do so, though we anticipate awards will be limited for the remainder of 2024.

    • We will accept grant applications for the Fall grant cycle (due August 1, 2024) to fund projects occurring September - December, 2024. Applications for the fall cycle may be submitted at any time but will not be reviewed and awarded until August 2024. We highly recommend submitting applications of any size - including smaller grants - for review as part of this cycle; it is possible that there will not be funds remaining to open rolling grant applications following these awards.

    • Please contact grants@tburgedfoundation.org if you have any questions.

  • To apply for a grant, you can now submit your application online. If you prefer to print your application, you may download the pdf Grant Application Form, and email it to grants@tburgedfoundation.org, or mail it to the address at the bottom of the form.

When will my grant application be reviewed?

  • Larger grants over $1,000 will be reviewed during the bi-annual grant review meetings (August 1st and January 15th).

Trumansburg Education Foundation Grant Award Guidelines

Grant applications that are clear and concise regarding the program description, objectives, and number of students impacted have the highest chance of being fully funded. Please provide clear details regarding the overall program budget and how the requested funds from the Trumansburg Education Foundation will be used. Please refer to these model grant applications as guides:

Trumansburg Robotics Team, Fall 2017 – 3D Printer
Fully funded at $1,500

Trumansburg 7th Grade, Fall 2016 – Bird Project
Fully funded at $310

Trumansburg After-school Program, Fall 2016 – Mobile STEM
Fully funded at $178

Proposals to enhance the education of Trumansburg students will be considered provided that the proposed project directly involves and/or benefits students, and cannot be funded through existing avenues of school district support. The most competitive grants are those that reach a large number of TCSD Pre-K-12 students and focus on forward-thinking programming that enhances and supplements the K-12 curriculum.

Trumansburg Education Foundation Grants are awarded on a smaller scale to community organizations, provided the applicant is a 501c3 organization. Partnerships between the Trumansburg School District and community organizations are welcome.
