KDT! Trumansburg is a collaboration of the TCSD Foundation, Discovery Trail, and Trumansburg Central School District to provide curriculum-based field trips to the eight sites of the Discovery Trail for Trumansburg Central School District students grades Pre-K through 6.
Last week instructors from CORNELL BOTANIC GARDENS (formerly called Cornell Plantations) visited each Grade 3 classroom and presented a lesson and hands-on activities to prepare the students for their upcoming field trip to the wildflower garden; and here are some pictures from those visits. Thank you to the Trumansburg PTO for funding their program book, “Wildflowers: A Peterson First Guide,” by Roger Tory Peterson; and to our Foundation donors for their support.
How fun can those curriculum-based field trips be? Check it out! Here are some pictures to remind you of recent trips to the Johnson Art Museum (Pre-K); Tompkins County Public Library (Gr. K); Museum of the Earth (Gr. 1); Sciencenter (Gr. 2); Cornell Botanic Garden (Gr. 3); History Center (Gr. 4); Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology (Gr. 5); and Cayuga Nature Center (Gr. 6).
We are pleased to have been able to fund these trips; but we need your help to be able to continue such programs. Please donate now to support educational enrichment for students across the district: http://tcsdfoundation.org/donate/ . We hope to raise $10,000 in honor of our 10-year anniversary.
